Non-cadre assistant teachers may be promoted to senior teacher posts

Non-cadre assistant teachers working under the School and Inspection Branch of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) may soon be promoted to senior teacher posts.

The initiative covers assistant teachers appointed through the 34th, 35th and 36th BCS non-cadre recruitment processes. A notice signed by S M Moslem Uddin, assistant director (Secondary-2) at DSHE, asked regional deputy directors of the School and Inspection Branch across all regions to submit the required documents by September 23.

“Necessary information is requested to be sent to the directorate through a designated messenger (two hard copies) by September 23 for the promotion of assistant teachers appointed through the 34th, 35th and 36th BCS (non-cadre) processes to the post of senior teacher,” the notice said.

The required documents include the teachers’ Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) for the past five years, a certificate from the head of the institution confirming that there are no departmental or criminal cases or audit objections against them, and a certificate confirming that their service has been satisfactory.

The certificates must be issued by the respective heads of the institutions where the teachers are employed.
