Who Will Re-Evaluate SSC Answer Scripts This Year?

The re-evaluation of this year’s SSC and equivalent examination answer scripts will involve a fresh assessment of the entire script, rather than simply checking whether marks were incorrectly totalled. This has raised questions over who will carry out the re-evaluation.

Sources at the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee said the answer scripts may be evaluated by the examiners and chief examiners who assessed them previously. However, the Education Ministry could also appoint new examiners for the process.

Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, president of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, told The Daily Campus that no decision had yet been made on who would evaluate the scripts. “No decision has been made yet on who will evaluate the SSC re-evaluation scripts. We have a meeting with the Education Ministry tomorrow. A decision will be taken there,” he said.

The results of this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations were published on August 10. A total of 1,138,877 students passed, while 690,608 failed. Overall, 1,829,485 students appeared in the examinations under 11 education boards this year. The average pass rate stood at 62.25%, down significantly from 68.45% in 2025.

The number of students who failed also increased from last year. In 2025, a total of 600,660 students failed the SSC and equivalent examinations.
