Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A. N. M. Ehsanul Hoque Milon met with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday afternoon at the Prime Minister's Office to deliberate on multiple agenda items related to teachers in private educational institutions.
According to reliable sources from the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Education speaking to The Daily Campus, the high-level meeting was also attended by the Prime Minister's Advisor on Education, Dr. Mahdi Amin, and Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Abdul Khaleq.
The consultations coincided with the official approval of the proposal concerning the July salary for teachers.
A senior official of the Ministry of Education, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the Education Minister met with the Prime Minister to address several key school and college issues.
"The agenda includes the inauguration of fund disbursement for the Teachers' Retirement Benefit Board and Welfare Trust, as well as the transfer mechanism for non-government teachers," the official stated.
The official further noted that subsequent administrative steps regarding teacher transfers, retirement benefits, and welfare trust operations are expected to proceed following the Prime Minister's formal consent.
