Finance Ministry Rejects Proposal to Increase Festival Allowance for Teachers

The Ministry of Finance has rejected the proposal to increase the festival allowance (Utsab Bhata) for MPO-enlisted teachers and employees of non-government educational institutions by 10 percent.
As a result, teachers and staff will continue to receive the existing festival allowance of 50 percent of their basic salary.
A source from the Education Ministry informed The Daily Campus on Sunday (5 April) that the Finance Ministry turned down the proposal during a meeting held on Saturday.
A senior official of the Education Ministry, requesting anonymity, told The Daily Campus: “There will be no increase in the festival allowance for now. The Education Minister will take the next steps regarding this matter.”
