Education and Primary & Mass Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon has said he will seek the opinions of all education board chairmen regarding whether the upcoming SSC and HSC examinations can be held with a uniform set of question papers. A formal decision will be taken after receiving their feedback.

A source at the Ministry of Education said on Wednesday (25 March) that the minister will examine both the advantages and disadvantages of conducting the exams with identical question papers. Discussions with relevant stakeholders are also planned before any final decision is reached.

An unnamed ministry official told The Daily Campus: “No decision has been taken yet on holding exams with uniform question papers. The matter is still at the preliminary discussion stage. We will proceed according to the instructions of the Education Minister.”

Earlier, while addressing an Iftar programme organised in honour of education beat journalists, the minister had hinted at the possibility of conducting SSC and HSC examinations under all general education boards with the same set of questions.

He said: “All students across the country should have the same standard and benchmark. If major competitive examinations around the world can be held with uniform question papers, it should also be possible in our country. We are considering whether we can introduce this system from next year.”
