Farhad Congratulates Fahmida for Challenging His DUCSU Candidacy with Writ
S M Farhad, the General Secretary (GS) candidate from the Islami Chhatra Shibir panel for the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election, has extended congratulations to B M Fahmida Alam, the Left Alliance-supported candidate for the Liberation War and Democratic Movement Affairs Secretary post, for filing a writ challenging his candidacy.
In a Facebook post around 12:30 PM on Sunday, August 31, 2025, Farhad wrote, “I congratulate the Left Alliance leader for her initiative in challenging my candidacy through a writ petition.”
Farhad further stated, “Compared to the prolonged smear campaigns against me by various groups through edited photos and videos, your legal approach is a relatively better strategy. Obstacles, conspiracies, or tactics will not deter our regular journey; we will not stop, InshaAllah.” Farhad is contesting the GS post with ballot number 04.
Earlier on Sunday, a writ was filed in the High Court bench of Justices S K Tahsin Ali and Habibul Gani. Advocate Shishir Monir confirmed the filing.
