DUCSU: A Glance at the Ballot Numbers of 471 Candidates
The final list of 471 candidates and their ballot numbers for the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election has been released. The list was published on Tuesday (26 August). Candidates are now permitted to include their ballot numbers alongside their names during the campaign.
As per the final list, 45 candidates are contesting for the Vice-President (VP) post, 19 for the General Secretary (GS) post, and 25 for the Assistant General Secretary (AGS) post. Additionally, 17 candidates are vying for the Liberation War and Democratic Movement Secretary post, 11 for the Common Room, Reading Room, and Cafeteria Secretary post, 14 for the International Affairs Secretary post, 19 for the Literature and Cultural Secretary post, and 12 for the Science and Technology Secretary post.
Furthermore, 9 candidates are competing for the Research and Publication Secretary post, 13 for the Sports Secretary post, 12 for the Student Transport Secretary post, 17 for the Social Welfare Secretary post, 15 for the Health and Environment Secretary post, 11 for the Human Rights and Law Secretary post, and 15 for the Career Development Secretary post.
The highest competition is for the member posts, with 217 candidates in the fray. In total, 471 candidates are set to compete for 28 posts in the DUCSU election.
