Intolerance in DUCSU Election May Allow Third Parties to Exploit: DU VC Warns

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan has cautioned that a lack of tolerance during the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election could provide opportunities for third parties to exploit. He made these remarks at a press conference held on Tuesday evening (26 August).
He stated, “The candidate list has been finalized, and campaigning will soon commence. At this critical juncture, we cannot afford to engage in conflicts. Maintaining harmonious relations is essential for our collective existence. All candidates and voters are part of the Dhaka University family—some are your seniors, some your juniors, and others your peers.”
The Vice-Chancellor added, “There is no logical reason for major disputes among us unless driven by ulterior motives. If we fail to remain tolerant, third parties will seize the opportunity. Those looking to exploit troubled waters will take advantage of our weaknesses. The DUCSU election is a complex process with its challenges.”
