BUP Finance Society has announced the return of Hult Prize at BUP for the 2026-27 edition, inviting aspiring entrepreneurs to develop business ideas that address social and environmental challenges. The competition encourages participants to go beyond innovative concepts by focusing on market research, financial planning and operational feasibility. The Daily Campus is the media partner for the competition.

Hult Prize at BUP 2026-27 is a social entrepreneurship initiative that aims to help participants develop startups aligned with at least one of the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through a series of evaluations, teams will refine their ideas, assess market opportunities and demonstrate the feasibility of their proposed ventures.

The competition will consist of three rounds. Round 1 will be held online, with teams required to submit their initial business concepts by October 30, 2026. Round 2, scheduled for November 6, will take place offline at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) and assess participants' market understanding, business models and presentation skills. The final round, the Grand Finale, will be held on November 11 at BUP. It will assess the practicality and potential impact of the shortlisted ventures.

The event was officially launched on October 17, introducing participants to this year's edition. Registration will close on October 28, 2026. A workshop will also be held in October to familiarise participants with the competition's framework and guide them through the process of developing business concepts.

The competition offers a total prize pool of Tk 60,000. The champion team will receive Tk 30,000, while the first and second runners-up will receive Tk 20,000 and Tk 10,000, respectively. Beyond the financial rewards, the competition aims to give participants practical experience in evaluating business opportunities and assessing the viability of their proposed ventures.

Through its staged evaluation process, Hult Prize at BUP 2026-27 seeks to promote entrepreneurial thinking within the university community. By assessing ideas in terms of market positioning, business potential and feasibility, the competition aims to encourage participants to combine ambition with commercial discipline.
