Clashes Between Shibir and Chhatra Dal Spread to Alia Madrasah and National Medical College
Following violent altercations at Jagannath University (JnU), clashes between Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) have spread to Government Alia Madrasah and the area surrounding Dhaka National Medical College Hospital in Old Dhaka on Tuesday.
Initial confrontations erupted around 2:30 PM on Tuesday (August 4) near National Medical College, involving JCD and Chhatra Shibir activists from three neighboring Old Dhaka educational institutions—Jagannath University, Kabi Nazrul Government College, and Shaheed Suhrawardy Government College.
As tension mounted across the area, a fresh wave of violence broke out between activists of both student organizations inside the Government Alia Madrasah premises in Old Dhaka shortly after 4:00 PM.
