3-Day Ultimatum to Cancel Dhaka Central University Admission Notice
General students of Dhaka Central University have issued a strict three-day ultimatum demanding the immediate cancellation of the 2025–26 academic session's admission circular, labeling the inclusion of the term "Affiliated Colleges" as highly controversial and a direct violation of the university's core ordinance. The agitating students have demanded the publication of a fresh unified admission circular under the explicit name of the university, warning of rigorous and unyielding protests if their three-point charter of demands is not fulfilled immediately.
The declaration was made during a formal press conference organized under the banner of "General Students of Dhaka Central University" on Thursday at 12:30 PM in front of the Dhaka College Shahid Minar. Sabid Hossain, a student from the 2023–24 academic session, read out the written statement on behalf of the protesting students.
Ordinance Violations Causing Widespread Mass Confusion
In the written address, Sabid Hossain noted that Dhaka Central University was specifically established by integrating the seven government colleges of the capital. However, students pointed out that several components of the newly published admission circular for the 2025–26 academic year stand in direct contradiction to the University Ordinance 2026. This administrative discrepancy has triggered intense confusion, anxiety, and frustration among prospective admission seekers, current students, and their parents.
Protesters emphasized that their movement is not geared toward creating conflict or systemic instability within the campus, but is rather a justified push to secure the legal rights of the student body and guarantee a completely transparent admission framework.
The Three-Point Charter of Demands
To resolve the administrative gridlock, the student representatives placed a formal three-point charter of demands before the university administration with clear operational deadlines.
First, the university authorities must eliminate all controversial and conflicting elements from the admission circular—specifically removing references to affiliated colleges—within the next three days, and must publish a comprehensive, full-fledged admission circular under the sole name of Dhaka Central University within three working days.
Second, the administration must officially appoint a Controller of Examinations within the next seven working days and successfully integrate all currently running academic sessions directly under Dhaka Central University. Failure to execute this within the stated timeline will force students to indefinitely suspend all academic and administrative operations of Dhaka Central University across the seven campuses.
Third, the university management must issue uniform, official Dhaka Central University student identification cards to all enrolled students of the 2024–25 academic session within the next five working days.
