JU Students to Get 19 Days of Holiday During Ramadan
Jahangirnagar University (JU) students will enjoy a 19-day holiday, including the holy month of Ramadan, Shab-e-Qadr, Jumatul Bida, Eid-ul-Fitr, and the Great Independence and National Day. All classes and examinations will remain suspended from 10 March to 26 March (17 days). With Friday (27 March) and Saturday (28 March) being weekly holidays, the total break will be 19 days.
This was announced in a notification signed by Acting Registrar Dr. A.B.M. Azizur Rahman on Monday (2 March). The notification states that during this period, all departments, institutes, and academic activities—including regular, weekend, and evening programs—will remain closed.
Acting Registrar Dr. A.B.M. Azizur Rahman said: “According to the university calendar, classes were scheduled to be suspended from 12 March. However, following applications from Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) and several general students, an administrative meeting was held. The meeting decided to close the university from 10 March.”
