IUB honours 210 O-Level and A-Level achievers in Chattogram

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) honoured 210 high-achieving students in Chattogram for their outstanding results in the O-Level and A-Level examinations under the Cambridge and Edexcel curricula.

The award ceremony was held on September 16 at the auditorium of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in Chattogram.

IUB Vice Chancellor Prof M Tamim attended the event as the chief guest. Special guests included Dr K Ayaz Rabbani, Dean of the School of Environment and Life Sciences at IUB; Asif Parvez, Registrar of IUB; urban planner Engr Delwar Hossain Majumder; Prof Dr Adnan Mannan of the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Chittagong; and Babar Ali, the first person from Chattogram to summit Mount Everest.

Lima Choudhury, Director of Admissions, Financial Aid and International Relations at IUB; Priyanka Dey, Deputy Director; Md Fuad Hossain, Outreach Officer; and Masud Bakul, Managing Director of Whiz Communications, also addressed the programme. Kazi Arfat, Director (Admin and Planning) of Whiz Communications, delivered the welcome remarks.

The programme featured cultural performances highlighting Chattogram’s heritage, followed by the presentation of awards to the students.

A magic show by Rajib Basak and a musical performance by singer Shantanu Dutta were also held as part of the celebrations. Whiz Communications provided overall management support for the event.
