Mirza Abbas Shows Health Improvement in Malaysia, Return to Bangladesh Delayed

BNP Standing Committee member and Dhaka-8 Member of Parliament Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed is showing steady physical improvement while undergoing therapy in Malaysia, though his return to Bangladesh will take some more time, according to the party's media cell.

Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP Media Cell, shared the health update on Sunday afternoon, confirming that Mirza Abbas—who also serves as an adviser to the Prime Minister—is currently receiving specialized care under a medical board at the Prince Court Medical Centre in Malaysia.

The senior politician was initially flown to Singapore via air ambulance on March 15 from Evercare Hospital in Dhaka's Bashundhara Residential Area after his health condition deteriorated. Following initial medical management and slight physical progress in Singapore, attending doctors recommended transferring him to Malaysia on April 14 for specialized long-term therapy and rehabilitation.

"He is gradually making an overall recovery under the supervision of the medical board in Malaysia. However, it will still take a few more days before he can safely travel back to Bangladesh," Shairul Kabir Khan stated regarding the veteran leader's current health trajectory.
