51 Awami League Leaders and Activists Resign in Gopalganj

Fifty-one leaders and activists across various organizational levels of the Awami League in Muksudpur Upazila of Gopalganj have announced their resignation from all party positions and primary memberships. The leaders declared through separate press conferences that they no longer hold any organizational ties with the party.

The press conferences were held from Sunday (August 2) morning through night across Muksudpur Municipality and several unions within the upazila. The resigning members announced their complete withdrawal from all party designations, titles, and organizational responsibilities.

Among the key figures resigning from Muksudpur Municipality are former Ward 4 commissioner and Cultural Affairs Secretary Billal Molla, member Palash Molla; Ward 6 Awami League leaders Abul Kalam Azad, Aolad Sheikh, Akram Chowdhury, Khorshed Mia, Saiful Sheikh, Chan Sheikh, Siddique Sheikh, Suman Munshi, Salam Molla, Hasmat Molla, Thandu Sharif, Shahahan Molla, Shahahan Mridha, Abu Sayeed Mina, Mohammad Sheikh, Rashid Sheikh, Mofiz Sharif, Hasib Sheikh, Suman Sheikh, Amirul Sharif, Mahabur Sharif, Malek Sheikh, Faruk Mir, Tarek Molla, and Ashraf Ali.

Other municipal resignations include Ward 5 members Hannan Sheikh, Shajon Shikder, Mamun Hasan, Saiyad Sheikh, Abul Hossain (Abu), and Masud Munshi; Ward 7 member Abdul Hoque; and Ward 8 Awami League Vice President Hemayet Fakir and member Nasiruddin.

At the union level, Ujani Union Awami League Treasurer Haridas Biswas, Vice President Pronoy Karmakar, Cultural Affairs Secretary Mohan Bashi Pandey, members Nipen Pandey, Buddhi Kanti Pandey, and Mrittunjoy Pandey stepped down, along with Ward 6 Cultural Affairs Secretary Khipu Molla and Ward 4 member Yad Ali Molla. Additionally, Maharajpur Union Ward 4 member Sanjit Datta and Gobindapur Union Ward 9 member Kalachan Das also announced their resignations.

During the briefings, the resigning leaders stated that they voluntarily decided to step down from all party activities and formal posts, declaring that they hold no further connection with the Awami League moving forward.
