Shibir Bids Farewell to Nine Central Leaders as Student Tenure Ends
Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir has officially bid farewell to nine central leaders, including Sadiq Kayem, Vice President (VP) of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and the central International Affairs Secretary of the organization. The decision was finalized today, Monday (July 13), during a central executive council by-election following the official completion of their student lives, coming just ahead of the scheduled second general session of the executive council tomorrow.
According to organizational parameters, Shibir’s constitution dictates that an official's active term automatically concludes upon the expiration of their formal student status. The nine departing central executive leaders are International Affairs Secretary Sadiq Kayem, Media Secretary Mu’tasim Billah Shahedi, Human Resource Development Secretary Sharif Mahmud, Student Rights Secretary Muhibur Rahman Muhib, Planning and Development Secretary Riazul Islam, Business Education Secretary Nurul Huda, Library Secretary Arafat Hossain Milan, Debate Secretary Habibur Rahman Arman, and Dawah Secretary Shahin Ahmed.
Azizur Rahman Azad, Central Office Secretary of Chhatra Shibir, and SM Farhad, Central Publicity Secretary and DUCSU GS, confirmed the transition details to The Daily Campus. They verified that the organizational careers of these nine leaders within the student wing have officially drawn to a close due to the natural expiration of their student life cycles, marking a major leadership transition for the student body during its 2026 mid-year organizational reshuffle.
