Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has stated that the Awami League will soon be brought to the dock to face trial as a political party for its involvement in terrorist activities.

He made the remarks on Saturday (July 4) afternoon during the ongoing July National Convention held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the capital's Agargaon.

Reflecting on the memories of the July movement, the Home Minister shared behind-the-scenes insights, stating, "During those days, after spending countless sleepless nights coordinating and discussing with Tarique Rahman, we managed to organize our forces and successfully conclude the July movement under a non-political banner."

He further remarked, "The nation holds high expectations for the rebuilding of a future Bangladesh. Considering the current state of the economy, everyone must exercise patience. The government is working according to its structured plan."

Salahuddin Ahmed also alleged that fugitive leaders and activists of the Awami League are conspiring against the democratic government from abroad.

"The political downfall of the Awami League is complete. They will never be able to practice politics in this country again. They have been politically buried," he added.

The Home Minister cautioned against exploiting the movement, saying, "No one should exploit the July spirit; trading on such sentiments is unacceptable. The people of this country will ensure that those who attempt to commodify this spirit face the consequences."
