The Election Commission (EC) has officially published the gazette notification declaring 49 candidates elected unopposed to the reserved women's seats for the 13th National Parliament. The notification, released on Thursday (April 30), confirms the representation of various political alliances based on their proportional strength in the house.

According to the gazette, 36 members from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), 12 from the Jamaat-led alliance, and one from the Independent alliance have been declared winners.

The process reached its final stage after Returning Officer and EC Joint Secretary Moin Uddin Khan published the valid list of candidates yesterday. Following the presentation of these names to the Commission today, they were formally declared elected without contest.

With the publication of this gazette, the 13th National Parliament moves closer to its full functional strength. The newly elected members are expected to take their oaths of office shortly, marking a significant step in the legislative representation of women in the current parliamentary term.
