Public Holiday Extended by One Day; Circular Issued
The government has declared November 7 a public holiday in observance of "National Revolution and Solidarity Day." A formal circular has been issued, categorizing the day as a ‘Class-A’ national day.
The information was confirmed in a circular signed by Afroz, Deputy Secretary of the General Branch of the Cabinet Division, on Tuesday (April 21).
According to the circular, the "National Revolution and Solidarity Day" will be considered inserted in the appropriate place as per the Cabinet Division's circular dated March 11, 2026. Consequently, November 7 will be observed nationally every year. All relevant ministries, divisions, and agencies have been directed to take the necessary measures to implement this decision effectively.
Earlier, on April 16, the government decided to reinstate the observance of November 7 as National Revolution and Solidarity Day. At that time, it was announced that the day would be observed with due dignity and would be a public holiday.
Cabinet Secretary Md. Nasimul Gani had previously stated that alongside the decision to observe November 7, the government also designated July 6 as "National Rural Development Day." However, there will be no public holiday on July 6.
