Finance Minister Amir Khasru Hospitalised
Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has been admitted to hospital after being diagnosed with pneumonia. He is currently undergoing treatment at United Hospital in the capital.
His personal officer Shahiduzzaman confirmed the information on Sunday (1 March).
Shahiduzzaman said the minister was admitted to United Hospital following the pneumonia diagnosis. He added that the minister's condition is improving and he is responding well to treatment.
The Ministry of Finance's public relations officer Siraj Ud-Daula Khan also confirmed the hospitalisation.
Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury won the Chattogram-11 constituency in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election as a BNP-nominated candidate. In the newly formed government, he was assigned the key responsibility of the Finance and Planning Ministry.
News of his illness has caused concern in political circles, with well-wishers praying for his speedy recovery.
