RUET First Phase Admission Leaves 762 Seats Vacant

Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) has published the list of candidates admitted in the first phase for the 2025-26 undergraduate session. A total of 468 students have been admitted in this phase. Despite this, 762 seats remain vacant across various departments.

In the Engineering and URP faculties, 461 students were admitted, leaving 739 seats empty. In the Architecture department, only 7 students were admitted, with 23 seats still vacant. Admitted students must pay the admission fee of 18,500 taka through bank by today (Wednesday, 18 February) to confirm their admission, or it will be cancelled.

The RUET admission committee, chaired by Prof. Dr. Md. Nurul Islam, issued a notification on Tuesday (17 February) night on the university's admission website. The notice states that the merit and preference-based list was prepared from students present on 17 February. It directs admitted candidates to complete fee payment within banking hours today to secure their seats.

RUET offers admission in 1,230 general seats across 14 departments under the faculties of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical & Computer Engineering. Additionally, there are 5 reserved seats for students from the Chittagong Hill Tracts and small ethnic groups, making a total of 1,235 seats available this year. With only 468 admissions in the first phase, nearly two-thirds of the seats remain unfilled.
