PM Tarique Rahman Offers Jiarat at Parents’ Graves After Taking Oath

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited Zia Udyan in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar tonight to offer jiarat at the graves of his father, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, and his mother, former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. He performed the jiarat shortly after assuming office as the country’s 11th Prime Minister. During the visit, he offered prayers seeking eternal peace for their departed souls, with family members present.
Earlier in the afternoon, Tarique Rahman took his oath of office at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. The ceremony was attended by several foreign dignitaries and diplomats. The visit to his parents’ graves marked a personal moment amid his first day in office.
