Nasiruddin Patwary shows up at protest called against him, issues public apology
A protest was called after Asr on Sunday (8 February) at the north gate of Baitul Mukarram by the Allama Junayed Babunagari Memorial Council, condemning what they said were false and offensive remarks about former Hefazat-e-Islam chief Allama Junayed Babunagari by Nasiruddin Patwary, chief coordinator of the National Citizen Party (NCP) and Dhaka‑8 candidate.
Soon after the demonstration began, Patwary himself appeared at the site and was seen in front of the venue. Photos of his presence circulated on social media, sparking discussion.
Later, Patwary posted on Facebook: “I sincerely and unconditionally apologize to anyone hurt by my words or actions.” On Facebook, Sadequl Rahman Khan wrote that Patwary arrived and sat down ahead of others at the protest against him, adding a remark about Mirza Abbas having once felt pity for him but no longer.
