BNP candidate's nomination canceled in Hasnat's constituency

The Election Commission (EC) has canceled the nomination of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate Manjurul Ahsan Munshi for the Cumilla-4 constituency on charges of loan default.
The announcement was made by the EC today, Saturday (January 17), at 4:00 PM following a hearing held at the Auditorium in Basement-2 of the Election Commission building in Agargaon, Dhaka.
Earlier, Hasnat Abdullah, the candidate from the Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) for the same constituency, had filed an appeal with the EC questioning why Manjurul Ahsan Munshi's nomination should not be canceled due to allegations of loan default.
