Tarique Rahman visits grave of martyr Osman Hadi
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has visited the grave of Inqilab Moncho convener martyr Sharif Osman Hadi.
He reached the burial site, located beside the grave of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam near Dhaka University Central Mosque, shortly before 11:30 am on Saturday (27 December).
A post on BNP’s verified Facebook page around 10:45 am informed that Tarique Rahman had left for Osman Hadi’s grave.
Unlike the previous two days, Tarique Rahman did not travel in a red-and-green decorated bus today. He went to the grave in a white vehicle decorated with flowers.
BNP leaders and activists were seen positioned along both sides of the road. Law enforcement agencies were also present in large numbers.
Security has been intensified around Tarique Rahman’s visit. Two layers of barricades and police presence are visible from TSC to Hadi’s grave. There is also one layer of barricade from the Shahbagh side.
Earlier, on Saturday (27 December) at around 10:40 am, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman left his Gulshan residence to visit the grave of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson martyr Sharif Osman Hadi.
After paying respects at Hadi’s grave, Tarique Rahman will proceed to the Election Commission building in Agargaon to complete his National Identity Card (NID) registration.
His scheduled visit to the National Orthopedic Hospital and Rehabilitation Institute (Pangu Hospital) in Shyamoli to see those injured in the July mass uprising has been cancelled as no injured persons from the uprising are currently admitted there.
This information was confirmed by the party on Saturday (27 December). However, he will carry out other programmes on this day.
