UK doctor arrives at Evercare to assist in Khaleda Zia's treatment
A doctor from the United Kingdom arrived at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on Wednesday morning to assist in the treatment of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Dr Richard Billy landed at the airport around 9:30 am. He entered the coronary care unit (CCU) on the fourth floor of the hospital at 10:35 am, where Khaleda Zia is undergoing treatment.
A senior hospital source said the visiting doctor will examine her latest medical reports and consult with the medical board before providing their assessment on the next steps in her treatment.
Around 10:30 am, Sharmila Rahman Sithi, wife of Khaleda Zia's late younger son Arafat Rahman Coco, arrived at the hospital and went straight to the CCU.
Hospital officials said a team of specialist doctors from China is expected to arrive after evening.
