Dr Jahid Breaks Down in Tears Addressing Khaleda Zia's Condition: "People's Prayers Give Us Hope"
Professor Dr A Z M Jahid Hossain, BNP Standing Committee member and personal physician to ailing BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, broke down in tears while briefing reporters on her critical health outside Evercare Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.
Visibly emotional, Dr Jahid, speaking on behalf of the Bangladesh-UK-USA medical board, said: "For the past six years, the people of Bangladesh have stood by us with their unwavering support and prayers for our leader. It is their prayers and Allah's mercy that fill us with hope to see her recover and return to better health."
He emphasised that Khaleda Zia is currently stable and receiving the best possible care, with doctors optimistic about gradual improvement.
Dr Jahid conveyed the deep concern of Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, and other leaders, who remain in constant touch with the medical team.
Urging the nation to stay united in faith, he said: "We request everyone to continue praying for her swift recovery and avoid any misinformation. The power of people's dua has sustained us through these trials."
BNP will provide further updates through Dr Jahid and Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi only.
In response to queries, Dr Jahid confirmed that the party and family are fully prepared to airlift Khaleda Zia abroad if the medical board deems it necessary, but the decision will be guided solely by her health status.
