Iran’s Education Minister Alireza Kazemi has revealed that 206 students and teachers have been killed, and 161 others injured, as a result of U.S. and Israeli attacks on the country so far.

The minister disclosed the figures during a break in the funeral prayers for military commanders killed in the war on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has strongly condemned the deadly missile strike by the U.S. and Israel on an elementary school in Iran. Most experts attribute the attack to the United States.

According to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, citing the provincial governor, U.S. and Israeli forces have targeted 52 schools and five medical centres in Lorestan Province. The attacks have affected 10 administrative districts in the province.

The governor reported that more than 2,500 residential and commercial buildings have been destroyed in these strikes. Additionally, 13 sports facilities and two Red Crescent rescue centres were also hit.

The scale of destruction in educational and health infrastructure has drawn widespread international condemnation, with many highlighting the targeting of civilian and humanitarian sites during the ongoing conflict.
