Gold Price in Bangladesh Jumps by Tk 2,216 per Bhori
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) announced a fresh increase in gold prices on Monday, raising the rate by Tk 2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams). The new price for 22-carat gold has been set at Tk 2,61,040 per bhori.
According to Bajus, the adjustment was made due to a rise in the local price of pure gold and the prevailing market situation. The revised rates are as follows:
- 22-carat gold: Tk 2,61,040 per bhori
- 21-carat gold: Tk 2,49,143 per bhori
- 18-carat gold: Tk 2,13,568 per bhori
- Traditional method gold: Tk 1,74,785 per bhori
The selling price must include the mandatory 5% government VAT and a minimum 6% making charge set by Bajus. Making charges may vary depending on design and quality.
The previous adjustment was on 21 February, when 22-carat gold rose by Tk 3,266 to Tk 2,58,824 per bhori. So far in 2026, gold prices have been revised 32 times — increased 20 times and decreased 12 times.
Silver prices remain unchanged:
- 22-carat silver: Tk 6,707 per bhori
- 21-carat silver: Tk 6,415 per bhori
- 18-carat silver: Tk 5,482 per bhori
- Traditional method silver: Tk 4,082 per bhori
Silver prices have been adjusted 18 times this year — 11 increases and 7 decreases.
