Gold Prices Rise Again as Per Bhori Nears Tk 2.25 Lakh

At the very start of the new year, Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has once again increased the price of gold in the domestic market. The price of 22-carat gold has been raised by Tk 2,216 per bhori in a single jump, setting the new rate at Tk 2,24,940 per bhori.
This information was announced in a BAJUS press release issued late Sunday (4 January). The newly declared price will take effect from today, Monday (5 January).
Earlier, on Thursday (1 January), BAJUS had adjusted gold prices downward by Tk 1,458 per bhori, fixing 22-carat gold at Tk 2,22,724 per bhori.
Current Gold Prices (Effective 5 January 2026):
- 22-carat gold: Tk 2,24,940 per bhori (11.664 grams)
- 21-carat gold: Tk 2,14,734 per bhori
- 18-carat gold: Tk 1,84,058 per bhori
- Sonatan (traditional method) gold: Tk 1,53,323 per bhori
