The government has appointed 102 Executive Magistrates to maintain law and order during the 50th BCS Preliminary examination. Among them, 92 magistrates will be stationed at 92 examination centers (one at each), while 10 will perform duties at the control room of the Commission Secretariat. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on Sunday (January 18).

The preliminary examination (MCQ type) is scheduled to be held simultaneously across 92 centers in Dhaka on January 30, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

According to the notification, 102 officers from the BCS (Administration) cadre have been vested with the powers of Executive Magistrates under the Mobile Court Act. They have been deployed to specific exam centers or jurisdictions for the duration of the examination. Their primary responsibility will be to ensure law and order both inside and outside the centers during the exam.

The appointed Executive Magistrates have been instructed to attend a briefing seminar at the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) building on Tuesday (January 20) at 11:30 AM. Additionally, the notification directs them to report to the PSC Secretariat in Dhaka at 4:00 AM on the day of the examination.

The deployment aims to prevent any irregularities and ensure a fair environment for the thousands of candidates appearing for the 50th BCS, which remains one of the most competitive recruitment tests in the country.
