The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has taken an initiative to urgently recruit personnel for vacant posts in grades 13 to 16 at health institutions across the country under the Health Services Division. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) administration wing has instructed relevant officials at all health institutions to take the necessary measures to expedite the recruitment process.

The directive was issued in a letter signed by Professor Jalal Uddin Mohammad Rumi, Director (Administration) of the DGHS, on August 20. The letter said necessary steps had been taken to recruit 100,000 health workers to address the shortage of manpower in the health sector.

As part of the initiative, all health institutions under the Health Services Division have been instructed to take steps to recruit personnel against vacant posts in grades 13 to 16. The letter instructed authorities to expedite recruitment against the vacant posts through promotion and direct appointment in accordance with the Non-Medical Employees Recruitment Rules, 2018.

It also directed institutions where recruitment notices had been published and applications received for vacant posts but the process had not been completed by February 10, 2026, to obtain fresh clearance for the vacant posts and issue new recruitment notices.

The recruitment process in such cases must be completed by coordinating with the applications submitted under the previous notices, according to the directive. Health institutions have also been instructed to take immediate steps to resolve any recruitment-related lawsuits or administrative complications.

All health institutions must submit recruitment progress reports to the DGHS in the prescribed format by the fifth day of every month. The directive requires the information to be submitted both in hard copy and by email.
