Six of same family burnt in Agargaon gas line explosion

Six members of a family sustained burn injuries following a gas pipeline explosion at their residence in the capital’s Agargaon area early Saturday.

The injured – Md Jalil Mia (50), Aneja Begum (40), Asif Mia (19), Sakib Mia (16), Monira (17), and Iva (6) – were admitted to the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Family members said the explosion occurred suddenly in the gas line around dawn, leaving all six with burns. Upon receiving information, they were rescued and rushed to the DMCH burn unit where treatment is underway.

The extent of the burn injuries could not be ascertained immediately.
