U.S. President Donald Trump has announced an increase in blanket tariffs on imported goods from 10% to 15%. The new decision will take effect “immediately,” according to an AFP report on Saturday.

This comes after the U.S. Supreme Court declared Trump's earlier tariff imposition “unlawful” on Friday. In response, Trump had imposed an additional 10% tariff on imports. On Truth Social today, Trump stated that after a “thorough review” of the court’s “anti-American decision” on Friday, his administration has “legally tested” and raised the import tariff to 15%.

A White House official told AFP that the Trump administration will continue to seek “more appropriate ways” to implement tariffs in the future.
