Earthquake Shakes Dhaka and Neighboring Districts

A mild earthquake shook the capital city of Dhaka and its surrounding regions late Tuesday morning, causing brief panic among urban residents. The tremor was felt at approximately 11:42 AM, prompting many people in high-rise buildings to report distinct vibrations.

According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the earthquake registered a magnitude of 3.6 on the Richter scale. Seismologists confirmed that the epicenter of the shallow tremor was located approximately 29 kilometers north-east of Mirzapur in the Tangail district.

No immediate casualties, structural failures, or significant damages were reported from the capital or the epicentral zone in Tangail following the brief seismic activity.
