Earthquake Hits Bangladesh Again

The country experienced another earthquake tremor on Tuesday (7 April). The epicentre was in Silchar area of Assam, India.
A quake measuring 4.9 magnitude was felt in the afternoon. It was also felt in Sylhet and other bordering areas of Bangladesh, around 350 km from Dhaka.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake struck at 2:48 PM Bangladesh time, with its epicentre located 11 km northwest of Silchar city at a depth of 10 km.
The tremors were felt in various parts of Assam as well as in Sylhet, Moulvibazar and other border districts of Bangladesh. People in the border areas became panicked due to the sudden shaking.
No casualty or damage has been reported so far from Bangladesh.
