Government to Provide Tk 6,000 Assistance to Students, Who are Eligible?
The government has decided to provide a one-time admission assistance of Tk 6,000 to poor and meritorious students who have been admitted to Class XI and Alim 1st Year for the 2025-26 academic session.
Interested students can apply online from 12 April to 30 April 2026.
According to a circular signed by Smriti Karmakar, Managing Director (Additional Secretary) of the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust, the assistance will be given to students admitted in government and non-government institutions under the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Directorate of Technical Education, and Madrasa Education Directorate.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Minimum 60% marks or GPA 3.50 (including 4th subject) in the previous examination.
- Annual income of parents must be below Tk 3 lakh.
- Special preference for orphans, disabled students, children of freedom fighters, and children of 20th-grade government employees.
Required Documents:
- Poverty certificate from local public representative
- Testimonial from the head of the institution
- Birth certificate
- Parents’ NID copies
- Clear copy of online bank account details
The entire process is online. After submission, a high-level committee will verify the applications. Selected students will receive the Tk 6,000 directly in their or their guardian’s bank account.
