86 Deputy and 179 Assistant Attorney Generals Appointed

The government has appointed 86 Deputy Attorney Generals (DAGs) and 179 Assistant Attorney Generals (AAGs) to represent the state in the High Court.

The Solicitor Wing of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued an official gazette notification in this regard on Thursday (July 30) by order of the President.

Through the notification, all previous appointments of Deputy Attorney Generals and Assistant Attorney Generals have been revoked.

The order specified that exercising powers conferred under Article 3(1) of 'The Bangladesh Law Officers Order, 1972 (P.O. No. 6 of 1972)', the government has appointed 86 lawyers as Deputy Attorney Generals and 179 lawyers as Assistant Attorney Generals until further notice.
