RAB Set for Major Overhaul, Possible Name Change: PM's Advisor
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) is set to undergo a comprehensive structural overhaul, and its name is highly likely to be changed, Prime Minister’s Information and Broadcasting Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman announced on Tuesday.
“In a definitive sense, RAB will no longer remain the same force as it was before, and its name is also likely to be changed,” the adviser stated during a formal press briefing held at the Secretariat.
The announcement was made during a specialized briefing arranged by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to review the state's performance over the last quarter. During the session, Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon presented a comprehensive report detailing the current government’s major administrative activities, institutional reform initiatives, and strategic achievements over its first three months in office.
Principal Information Officer (PIO) Syed Abdal Ahmed was also present at the briefing, alongside senior ministry officials and representatives from various media outlets.
