Fire Breaks Out in Moving Passenger Bus in Bogura
A fire broke out in a passenger bus named ‘Kurigram Travel’ in Bogura’s Shajahanpur upazila on Sunday (12 April).
The incident occurred around 8:00 AM in the ‘C’ Block area on the highway. No casualties were reported as passengers managed to get off the bus safely.
Shajahanpur Fire Service Station Officer Ariful Islam confirmed the incident, saying the bus was travelling from Chattogram to Kurigram when the fire suddenly broke out. Fire Service personnel reached the spot promptly and brought the fire under control after about half an hour of effort.
Preliminary investigation suggests the fire originated from the bus’s battery.
SI Abu Jarra of Shajahanpur Police Station said passengers quickly evacuated the bus as soon as the fire started, preventing any injuries. However, a portion of the bus was damaged by the fire.
