Man Forges Govt Gazette Notification to Appoint Himself Director of Super Specialized Hospital, Arrested
A man named Irfan Zaman Nur has been arrested after allegedly editing an official gazette notification from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and declaring himself director of the Super Specialized Hospital adjacent to Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) in Shahbag, Dhaka.
The incident occurred on Monday (30 March) morning. According to Shahbag Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Moniruzzaman, the university administration informed the police after discovering the forgery. The man was subsequently detained.
OC Moniruzzaman said: “We will take further action based on the decision of the university administration.”
Reports indicate that Irfan Zaman Nur edited the ministry’s gazette notification to insert his own name as director. He then occupied the director’s chair in the absence of the actual director. Once the matter came to light, it caused significant commotion among hospital officials.
