Army Chief Leaves for USA on Official Visit
Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman left Dhaka for the United States on Saturday on an official visit. During the trip, the Army Chief will attend a special lecture at the Senate Chamber and accept an award proposed by the Georgia State Capitol.
The award is in recognition of the commendable contributions of Bangladeshi peacekeepers in United Nations missions, said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release on Sunday. He is also scheduled to participate in bilateral meetings with relevant U.S. officials to discuss mutual interests.
The visit is expected to further strengthen the military cooperation between the two nations. General Waker-Uz-Zaman will engage in high-level dialogues regarding regional security and defense partnerships during his stay in the United States.
