Osman Hadi Murder Accused Faisal Reportedly Arrested in Kolkata
Police in West Bengal have arrested two individuals in connection with the murder of Osman Hadi, who was shot dead in Dhaka on 12 December last year. The suspects, identified as Rahul alias Foysal Kairm Masud and Alamgir Hossain, were detained by the state’s Special Task Force (STF).
Hadi, a prominent figure, was gunned down in Dhaka, an incident that triggered widespread unrest across Bangladesh. Following his death, the government declared a day of national mourning, and he was even flown to Singapore for treatment under official arrangements in a bid to save his life.
The arrests are being viewed as a significant breakthrough by West Bengal police. Sources indicate that the suspects were apprehended based on intelligence and cross-border coordination.
The case has drawn attention in both countries, with the murder seen as a politically sensitive matter that contributed to heightened tensions in Bangladesh at the time.
