Eid Holiday Extended to 7 Days

To ensure smooth Eid travel for people heading home, the government has declared March 18 (Wednesday) as an additional public holiday. This brings the total consecutive Eid-ul-Fitr holiday for government employees to 7 days, from March 17 to March 23. Primary and mass education state minister Bobby Hajjaj confirmed this to media today on 5th March.
The decision was taken during the Cabinet meeting held on Thursday (5 March) at the Secretariat. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman presided over the meeting.
