Jamaat Ameer’s campaign booth torched in Dhaka-15; CCTV shows arson with fuel

Two days before the 13th national election, an election booth for Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer and Dhaka-15 candidate Dr. Shafiqur Rahman was set on fire early Tuesday (10 Feb).
CCTV footage shows a man wrapped in a shawl arriving at 4:26 a.m., splashing flammable liquid inside, igniting it, and fleeing. The booth, in Ward 4’s 13 and 3 Road area, was partially damaged; no injuries were reported.
Jamaat election steering committee member and ex-Shibir president Zahidul Islam told The Daily Campus, “We want a peaceful, fair election. But if anyone spoils the environment or blocks us, we will give a fitting reply with the people.”
