655 magistrates deployed in 300 constituencies; EC issues gazette

The Election Commission has appointed 655 members of the Bangladesh Judicial Service as first-class magistrates to ensure the upcoming referendum and 13th National Parliamentary Election are fair and peaceful.
They will serve for five days—two days before polling, polling day, and two days after—covering 10–14 February. An EC notification issued Monday (9 February) and signed by Deputy Secretary Mohammad Didar Hossain (Law Wing‑1) details the deployment.
