Fire breaks out on Saint Martin-bound ship in Cox’s Bazar
A fire broke out on a ship bound for Saint Martin in the Bankhali River near the BIWTA ghat at Nuniyachhara in Cox’s Bazar this morning.
The incident occurred around 7:00 am on Saturday (27 December) on the vessel named The Atlantic Cruise. No casualties have been reported so far.
Confirming the matter, Executive Magistrate and Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tanzila Tasnim said efforts are underway to bring the fire under control. She added that the ship has been completely damaged in the blaze.
The official further informed that there were no tourists on board the vessel at the time the fire started.
Firefighting operations are continuing, and more details are awaited.
