NCP leader Jannat Ara Rumi's body recovered

Police have recovered the hanging body of Jannat Ara Rumi from a girls' hostel under Hazaribagh police station in the capital. On Thursday (18 December) morning, the body was recovered from the fifth floor of Jannati Girls' Hostel located in the Jigatola old Kacha Bazar Road area.
Jannat Ara Rumi was the joint coordinator of Dhaka metropolitan south (Dhanmondi thana) coordination committee of National Citizen Party (NCP).
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hazaribagh police station Saiful Islam confirmed the matter to The Daily Campus and said she was involved in NCP politics while staying in the area.
Primarily, police say Rumi committed suicide. Police mentioned she was under family-related mental stress.
