Motorcycle used in attack on Hadi changed hands 8 times, fake number plate also recovered
The motorcycle, helmet and fake number plate used in the attack on Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Osman Hadi have been recovered in abandoned condition from the capital's Bonolata residential area by the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
On Sunday (14 December) around 8:45 am, the CTTC recovered the abandoned motorcycle, helmet and fake number plate from Bonolata residential area. According to CTTC sources, a team of the unit uncovered the changing of the number plate of the motorcycle used in the attack through analysis of CCTV footage.
On the basis of secret information, the motorcycle and helmet were recovered from the ground floor parking of a house in Bonolata residential area under Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station in west Agargaon. Later, the fake number plate was recovered in abandoned condition from inside a manhole. Intensive investigation was carried out to identify the ownership of the motorcycle.
The first owner of the motorcycle used in the attack was a person named Abdur Rahman. Subsequently, it was bought by one Shahidul, Russell, Marketplace, Obaidul Islam, Anarul, again from Anarul to Obaidul and then by a person named Shuvo.
It is learnt that after changing hands among a total of 8 persons, the motorcycle was purchased in the name of Mainuddin Islam using the national identity card of Md. Kabir, an associate of prime suspect Faisal involved in the attack incident. The recovered motorcycle, helmet and fake number plate have been handed over to the Detective Branch.
