All-rounder Sheikh Mahedi Hasan has been added to the Bangladesh squad ahead of the third and final One Day International (ODI) against Australia. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the roster update through an official press release issued today, Saturday.

The inclusion comes amid fitness concerns surrounding regular captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who sustained a minor injury during the previous match. While Miraz remains with the squad, the BCB medical team stated that his availability for the upcoming match will be determined tomorrow following further clinical assessments and fitness tests.

Bangladesh heads into the final encounter holding an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series, having secured historic back-to-back victories over the visitors in the opening fixtures. The final ODI is scheduled to take place tomorrow, June 14, at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, with play commencing at 11:00 AM local time.

With the series trophy already secured, the team management's tactical inclusion of Sheikh Mahedi provides an additional spin and lower-order batting option to fortify the team structure in case Miraz is rested.
